Happy days

Now I am usually a home body, but it seems that once uni starts I'm party central.

Had a tough week last week.. Hit Maccas on my way home on Sunday night and was cursed with food poisoning for most of the week. As a result.. missed classes. missed work = ---pay. I felt like I was half dead and then on Tuesday and wake and voila.. as if nothing had happened. Bless you Imodium.

Life is still confusing as usual. Relationships are all the same.. once they get to a certail stage, you want them to progress to the next level.. for things to keep moving and once they don't you start questioning where it is all going. Have been pondering many things a lot... Grad recruitment is in full swing.. Have been attending workshops and what not, yet to apply for anything though, still have on average about 10 days to get everything in. GOAL: hit Borders for a resume/application question book!

Now the topic of girls. How some girls are just so trashy. I wish they would leave others boyfriends alone. Jumping on a guy who is dancing on a podium does not qualify as trying to find yourself a boyfriend. Especially when he could well be someone's boyfriend! Whatever happened to being a lady, having self respect and restraint. It's one thing to introduce yourself to someone and completely another to throw yourself at them!!!

The weekend was a bit too busy.. I should really be studying, I'm far too behind for my own good and I have ongoing weekly assessment for most subjects so I'm not doing myself any favours.

  1. Took Niko to vball, which they won :D
  2. Studied for law... VFed a bit too much in between :S
  3. Went to Japanese for Rod's 22nd, Oyaka, Onaya?? Something like that in the valley. Loved the food.. the sushi and sashimi in particular.. but at $35 a head, Kon was really, very, unimpressed..
  4. Sunday we went to church as usual.

We decided that Little Taipei was the place to head for Sunday lunch, as apparently everyone loves it there. Upon arrival we came to the conclusion that none of us had previously dined there, so we were suspect about the quality and left for Southbank armed with a Slurpi each!

We had far too many beverages.. milk teas, smoothies etc and no lunch as yet haha. Made some mushroom pasta at Alena's for dinner and stayed til after 10. Lovely w/e, ableit not very productive.

Had a good day at uni so far I must say... Have enjoyed my classes today.. The title comes from my Metrix tutor, who like to say, happy days a lot of ensure we are grasping the concepts. Strange fellow.

With that I leave you for my Metrix lecture!

A brand new start

Hoorah! First day back at uni today of my last year everrrrrrrrrrrr! EVER!

Have had a somewhat weird few weeks. Took my Koko to Bribie Island the weekend of the 18th or whatever date it was. Think he massively hated it. Did the whole beach thing, he swam for 1 minute, went to the RSL for lunch as I've never been before - he was embarrassed! lol Poor baby.

At least he pretended to have fun, bless his soul.

I've been stressed with graduating, finding a job and all the sorta stuff. Need to move myself out quick smart too. We all get to a stage where we no longer belong with our parents and that's where I'm at right now.

I've set myself a lot of goals too.

  1. Go to all classes.
  2. Do my readings
  3. Do tute Qs
  4. Exercise, pilates, swim etc
  5. Get enough sleep
  6. Pay off my debt
  7. Save money
  8. Get cracking with graduate positions
  9. Maintain a great rship & friends
  10. Take care of myself
  11. Be NICE! no bitchy comments

Now I'm off to uni! x

V...

Funny how boys always seem to find an excuse not to believe in Valentines day. Too expensive, too commercial, I don't need to tell you you're special, you already know that. Yudda yudda. Well what's wrong with telling me you love me on 14 February too.

Just when I thought it was going to the same old unmentioned day, after a tough day at work to my sheer delight my Valentine had got me a dozen Krispy Kreme donuts, which are about as rare as rain up here in Brisbane.

Needless to say I was Delighted.

Enough already!

I've reached a point where I'm absolutely sick of reading blogs/emails of friends travelling the world, doing exciting things, while I sit couped up in an office for 60+ hours a week. The time has come for me to close this chapter of my life, get my skills to an adequate level and use them elsewhere to fulfill my personal goals, yet make for a more interesting life.

Goodbye boring life! Hello last semester at university!

Can you handle the truth?

Lying is only natural: boffins
From: October 12, 2005

SCIENTISTS have discovered why some people are more adept than others at lying. There is a fundamental difference in brain structure between the compulsive fibber and the rest of mankind.

The US research found that pathological liars had significantly more white matter made of nerve fibres that join different brain parts and enable quick, complex thinking and less grey matter, which is believed to control inhibitions and have a bearing on morality.

They concluded that people who habitually lie, cheat and manipulate have more "wiring" in their brains, equipping them to deal with the type of fast judgments that have to be made in order to lie and get away with it.

"Lying is not easy,' researcher Professor Adrian Raine said.

AHA! I always knew it! It seemed that the teachers at school I lied to about completing homework (they wanted to treat us like adults so instead of inspecting it they simply asked us) were the ones who consistently told my parents that I was a bright student with a prosperous future, yet when I attempted to do the work set in the unnecessarily mathematical subjects I always get neutral feedback! I suppose all that practice also means that my mum now believes me that my new Lisa Ho dress was on sale from Target, as were those shoes - even though I'm apparently saving for a house!! ;)

The beginning...

So while procrastinating from my assignment I've decided to join the hip and the cool and become a.... drumroll.... blogger!

BTW - happy birthday mama!
