iPhone snapshots of a weekend spent renovating...

The most time I've spent at Bunnings is possibly an hour to buy plastic containers.  On Sunday I was in there for THREE hours purchasing door handles, doors, light switches, drills, weed killer... I'm officially an adult!

The walls are painted.  Decided on "Dulux Antique White U.S.A".  Looks fantastic and very light, bright and spacious.

I ran away from it all for a pedicure in Armadale and a browse at some of the furniture stores on High Street.  I decided on a Hamptons/French Provincial look but have found it very difficult to find the furniture.  Love this coffee table, but it's too big!

This bench is a definite for the front porch.  Am totally in love.  Other than the couch, this is the only furniture I've purchased! HEEELP

What I thought would be the biggest job (knocking down the wall) was in fact the easiest!  Down within an hour.

The thorn!  AKA the wardrobe.  Dad has torn it down, which is forcing me to resign it and rebuilt it.  Anyone have any inspiration for me?

Sticker inside the old mirror...

How was everyone else's weekend?  I'm exhausted and it's only Monday morning!

  1. Looking great! I nearly went to Armadale yesterday but decided on Chaddy instead!

I'm tired too, but I'm not renovating. Lucky me!

French provincial is nice if you are careful not to overdo it! I love Real Living - have you bought that magazine yet?

  2. Yay - you're all grown up!! Just take it one step at a time and purchase things you love - that way it will all come together. So long as it's not a hot mess of pink and green in varying shades...hahaha!! although some people love that so no judging here!!

  3. Agree... get so bored and fed up in BUNNINGS!! (and I am meant to be more than offically an adult!) Great renovations and I love the wall down - bet it felt so spacious - love knocking down walls. And Antique White USA is perfect. You are doing brilliantly. x

  7. Knocking down walls - tell me about it! I had the carpenters take down the wall between the hallway and the bedroom, to rebuild it further out to make the bedroom bigger. I love it now that it's done and I have a lot more closet space, but I nearly freaked out when they did it because of all the dust. Dust everywhere! I felt like I was being choked by dust. But I'm glad I had it done - what a difference less walls and more light makes.

About that wardrobe - how large is the room? Can you make the wardrobe bigger to make it a walk-in closet? Or do you need to save space? If the latter is the problem, maybe sliding doors, like I put in, can be a solution?

  8. PS. Oh..and I love both the bench and the coffee table. Too bad the table was too big. Natural wood is beautiful.
