Existance of Feminism?

After the Fall 2010 Prada show Miuccia Prada called herself a former feminist. "Feminism?" she said, "[I]t doesn’t really exist anymore, does it?"

A feminist is someone who believes in social, political and economic equality for women.

Most normal women, sensing the vileness under the facade, refuse to call themselves feminists, which is a sad thing, since the original goal of the early feminists was to promote women not destroy masculinity, and that's not anything to be ashamed of.

Do you still believe in the idea of feminism?

  1. I believe in equality for all humankind, regardless of sex. But I'm not a total feminist (I like old-school guys who buy you dinner, open the door for you, etc). xx

  2. Definitely believe in the idea of it - i.e. equality for all in for example salaries ... makes me so furious when I read that women in some fields are getting paid less then their male colleagues but doing the same job....

p.s. I have sent you the handbag challenge - you have to show of your bag and contents.. - hope you don't mind!! Just a bit of fun really! X

  3. Not the old-school style feminism because we've moved on from that but I believe in equality and fairness, maybe Miucca's a post-feminist?

  4. I believe in equality and hope all the countries will get to this level soon! Hard to believe women still have no rights in certain parts of the world in 2010!

The ideals yes. The rabid ranting, raving and self-aggrandisement masquerading as feminism, no.
