Australian Harper's Bazaar April 2010

I got my subscriber issue on Wednesday and I haven't even finished the previous issue!

Below is the news stand cover.

I think what makes this issue a stand out though, is that it contains the very last interview with Alexander McQueen.

Scans below.

A little bit of Paris...

Hello dear readers.

I am slightly obsessed with French Provincial interiors.  I adore the Habitually Chic blog for inspiration.

I bought a little piece to add to my collection from Ma Maison last week.  Gorgeous little Eiffel Tower bookends!  I love that store, everything in there is wonderful and so well selected.

I am off on a whirlwind trip to New Zealand so I won't be able to post for a few days, but I will do some scheduled posts on LFW, I have some time tomorrow to get organised.

See you when I get back, enjoy the weekend.

US Vogue March 2010

I'm sick of paying AUD18 for a copy of US Vogue from Borders, which is about a week late anyway, so around Christmas I got myself a subscription trial, which I was skeptical about.  I've read stories about late delivery and issues not arriving at all, but today I got my first issue..

Tina Fey, certainly an interesting choice for a Power Fashion issue.

And let me tell you how blown away I am by the Fendi SS 2010 campaign shot by Karl that graces the first 6 pages.  Wow

There's also a great feature on the influence of fashion bloggers as well as models off the catwalk.

I won't have a chance to read this one for a few weeks as I am going on a quick o/seas trip and have a few other things to read/do first... but I'll be sure to post some more editorials and opinions on articles.

And everyone, do enter my give away!!!  Open to everyone, including international followers :)

Thank you all for reading and commenting, the first thing I do each morning is check my email to see what you all have to say.

Saturday at Portsea

B has a good husband spending lots of time with me before he disappears again into his books and sport spectating activities that take over Melbourne during winter.

On Saturday, it was about 30C and we went for a drive and swim to Portsea -  small seaside holiday town where Melbourne's rich own holiday houses.  It's about a 2 hour drive from the city.

We also had the ubiquitous lunch at Portsea Hotel

I've wanted to go to Portsea Polo ever since I've moved here, but always end up in Brisbane at that time.

That's me frolicking in the ocean, my ABSOLUTE favourite thing to do in the whole wide world.

And that's me playing on the pier once the weather turned nasty.

Wearing - Chloe linen dress that I got for a bargain on The Outnet.

On the way home, we stopped in for the world's best vanilla slice at Just Fine Foods in Sorrento.

If you're ever in the area, don't miss this treat.  I am very critical of vanilla slices, they are often too sweet with too much butter, but this one is perfect.  I would drive 2 hours to Sorrento every day for a slice of this perfection.

Video: Packing Couture With Anna Dello Russo

This made me laugh...

Many people have a secret fashion dream. They might want to be the number one collector of vintage ties, or to own the Givenchy dress that Audrey Hepburn wore in Breakfast at Tiffany's, or maybe to single-handedly bring back the skort. That is, skirts with in-built shorts. I had one, so practical. However, any serious fashionista, the ones who comb through Paris Vogue and put together outfit storyboards, who make "investment" purchases, work in "the industry" or dream about it, have fashion blogs and cite Kate Moss or Alexa Chung as their "style icon", generally have one common, focused dream. It is one that truly validates their personal aesthetics, and might just transform them into a style icon themselves. It is, of course, to be snapped on the street by fashion blogger Scott Schuman, aka the Sartorialist.
