On Good Friday/Veliki Petak we paint eggs red.  The red is a symbol of Christ's innocently spilt blood and also a symbol of resurrection.

They are taken to church on Sunday and blessed and one is then kept in the home as a protector for the rest of the year.

    Lovely Easter display... and I only learnt about the red eggs this year when I was given some Greek special sweet bread with a red egg in the middle of it...Have a wonderful Easter. x
